My buddy brought me here to make good on a bet we'd made in 2008. The stake was steak. The atmosphere was very nice, though a bit of a jarring juxtaposition from the inside of the casino. Were it a nicer casino, it wouldn't have been so weird, but this casino is a little depressing. Aside from all the smoking, and the just-barely-alive senior citizens throwing their children's (or grandchildren's) inheritance away, both of which are pretty gross, it comes across as somewhat cheesy and desperate (the casino, not Final Cut). I was not expecting much out of the restaurant, accordingly. So we arrive sans reservations. The hostess was very polite in explaining that they were reservation-only until 9, and in demurring when my buddy attempted to bribe our way into a seat. We were offered a spot in the bar, where they were serving from the full menu. The waitress was very attentive and did a very good job of walking that fine line of being attentive enough but not stalking us. There was a minor argument between, I believe, the bartender and one of the servers that probably should have been kept to a quieter volume or removed to another area, but it was only a little distracting. No Gordon-Ramsey level meltdown, unfortunately. Aside from the high-top table being a little small for two diners eating a full meal, the bar area was sufficient. On to the food: As I wasn't paying, and my buddy had put the meal off for three and half years, I didn't stick with the lower-priced option. We each got the Bison Ribeye at $52. I ordered mine medium rare. We split two sides (not included with the steaks), the lobster mashed potatoes and the truffle mac and cheese. The steaks were very, very good. It wasn't the best steak I've had (the American Kobe at Bobby Flay's in Atlantic City still holds that trophy), but it was easily in the top 10. The mac and cheese was also very good. I could see just coming in for that (if not for the whole having to navigate the casino issue). The mashed potatoes were a disappointment. It somewhat felt like an unnecessary pairing. Something like "Hey, how can we make mashed potatoes really expensive?" It seemed forced. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't order it again. Oh, I almost forgot: the pre-dinner bread. Someone else called it a brioche. I'm no bread connoisseur (breadoisseur?) but it was really delicious. Taste and texture like a croissant, and I loved the salt on the top. Bread and mac and cheese and I would've been pretty happy (if suffering from a carb-coma). The prices were pretty high, particularly for West Virginia. I imagine they have enough high-rollers in the casino that they can survive, but I suspect most of their customers are from out of town and have slightly higher bank balances than your average Charles Town/Martinsburg resident. If this weren't in the casino, I would recommend this restaurant as a great special-occasion high end steak house. In the casino, I can't recommend it as much. It will be a huge hassle to get into, you'll have to navigate through large crowds of rude people, through smoke filled sections to get there and then the walk out is equally as unpleasant. There's also something discomforting about spending this much on food and then having to walk through the throngs of welfare recipients and gambling addicts throwing their lives away. It interferes with the digestion. However, if you want a really good steak in the Martinsburg/Charles Town/Frederick, are willing to pay for it, and don't mind the casino atmosphere and location, you could do a lot worse.

Awesome steaks, sides and service. We visited on July 4 as part of our plan to avoid holiday crowds. Our reservation was for 730 and we were happy we didn't have to wait. The restaurant for a Saturday was unexpectedly not busy. The food here rivals any restaurant in DC in presentation, quality of ingredients, and execution. Our table had the filet mignon, veal chop on the bone and a ribeye off the bone. All cooked to a perfect medium rare and well seasoned. Sides are shareable. We had the truffle Mac and cheese, grilled asparagus, and creamed corn. All yummy - I would come back just for the sides! Desserts are beautiful and with a side of some of the best French press I have had in a long time. We were pleasantly surprised with this restaurant as well as the quality of the service. Definitely not cheap; some may call it a special occasion place. We plan to come back.

Tough night at the Final Cut...Having dinner at Final Cut before a show we decided to order the Pre-Fix menu we had a terrible experience our food was cold and not up to standard of the description of our waiter. We returned the steak three time to be reheated and the seafood soup didn't have broth so it look like a bowl of shells. Our waiter was very apologetic and truly understand our disappointment the manage comp our meal and ask us to come back for a better experience.

Your life just got a whole lot better!!! Everything is perfect, immaculate restaurant, professional staff, perfectly prepared food, brioche in the bread basket and best desserts ever!

One of the best steakhouses I've ever been too and I'm a steakhouse fanatic! Service was great, steak was great, drinks were great, the all around experience for my 1 year anniversary was great. It was all worth the hour and a half drive. I will be a returning customer!

Phenomenal! I've been to Ruth's, Morton's, and the like, and have never had a steak as great as the one I had here. I know, I was just as surprised. The ambience of this steakhouse is great, the service was top knotch, and the wine selection... on point. The sides and appetizers here were wonderful as well. We had the watermelon and feta salad and a carrot and ginger soup for apps, then for sides we had the spinach (my favorite), asparagus and mashed potatoes. I was very impressed by the Hollywood Casino and especially this steakhouse during my trip to WV.

I have eaten here 3 or 4 times. The steaks are consistently excellent. I would definitely recommend this place if you are at the casino and don't mind dropping a few dollars. But make sure that you get a table in the dining room. Twice I have attempted to eat in the bar, which is billed as being full service. Twice I have walked out due to lack of service. I am not blaming the bartenders. They are plenty busy with the other drinking only bar patrons and making drinks for the dining room. I blame the management. It is ridiculous to pretend to have full dinner service in the bar without a dedicated server.

Great place! It is on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for. I have been to all of the "high end" steak houses in the Baltimore area, and this puts them all to shame! Steaks here are off the hook! Waitstaff is top notch, and attentive. Our waiter was fantastic!

Had a lovely evening at the Final Cut Steakhouse !!! Food was cooked perfect and service was absolutely on point !!!!! Wonderful experience !!!!

Good steaks, but a bit pricey. 16oz Rib eye was $39, sides were extra. Service was good. I would recommend giving it a try if you have a few extra bucks or happened to win a little at the casino.

West Virginia has outdone themselves with this steakhouse. I was impressed from the door. Each table has it's own iPad that displays the wine list. I was prepared to select my wine and then play angry birds, but they found some magically way of not letting you download apps while at the table. The restaturant is pricey but I would say it is worth it. Each dish that my party ordered was large. I went with a party of four but we only ordered two dishes. True, we did this because we are ghetto and cheap, but it turned out a winner because there was no way one person could have finished an entire dish.

This place is expensive but the food is the best.

Okay! First time to this restaurant that is @ the Hollywood casino & racetrack in Charles town, WV. Our reservations were @730pm. We got seated. It didn't look very busy for a Saturday night. Menu doesn't have a very big selection but has seafood & steaks. It was a party of 4 all adults. We ordered appetizers. That was fine. We order an expensive bottle of wine. That was tasty & good. Now comes the best part. We didn't get our main entrees until 945pm??? WTH.. It wasn't busy, the hostess came out to say the "chef" or cook wasn't happy with the steaks because it was over cooked? Really??? 2 hrs later to tell us our steaks were over cooked ?? Then they tried to make it up with a very elaborate & expensive seafood platter/appetizer. That was ok but really 2hrs for our food? It did come out fine. I felt mine was a little chard & burnt on top, but it still was tasty. Everything is "al a cart" so beware of that. By the time you order your main meal and a side and perhaps a salad you could wound up paying easily about $50 to $70 a person. Glad I experienced it. But it wasn't good enough for me to want to go back again! Sorry .. I really wanted it to be epic. We did have a good time but it was only because of the company we had not the food that we got!

First bad point: in order to get to this restaurant, you have to walk through the sad sea of humanity that infests the casino. On the way to your meal, you will get to enjoy sights like sad senior citizens with oxygen tanks plunking change into slots while alternating between chain smoking and taking hits of oxygen; angry drunk imbeciles who just pissed away all their money swearing loudly; and if you're lucky, you may get to see a fight or see security take down a thief. No exactly the atmosphere you want to pass through on your way to a VERY EXPENSIVE meal. If you have nice clothes, go when it is warm so you do not have to wear a coat. My friend had on a nice wool coat that still stunk of cigarette smoke after several dry cleanings. After you have slogged your way through the human garbage, the restaurant itself is fairly nice. Unlike the Skybox Sports Bar you have a bit of separation between the restaurant and casino. Unfortunately, unlike the Skybar, the food at Final Cut is hideously overpriced. When you go to a steakhouse in New York city, you are not paying $50 for a steak because of the cut of meat. You are paying that additional money because New York is ridiculously expensive. Their rent costs are enourmous. Also, you end up paying a bit more there because there is usually a big name chef behind the restaurant, like a Bobby Flay or a Mario Batali. Why anyone thinks that the prices at Final Cut are acceptable, when it is simply a steakhouse crammed into a depressing casino in Charles Town, WV, is beyond me. The menu is basically fully of gimmicks to make the inflated prices look reasonable, but anyone with taste buds will find that the majority of the items fall well short of being worthy of their price. Additionally, Final Cut nickel and dimes you to death. You want the 14oz strip steak - $36. You want a sauce on that steak? $3 more. For $40, you'd think you might get a side? Nope. Want a vegetable? Add 5 or 6 bucks. Want a starch too? 5 or 6 bucks more. So to get a 14 oz strip with steak sauce, a veg and a starch? Your bill just jumped from $36 to $51. Another overpriced standout - $55 for two lobster tails. Not for two whole lobsters, just two average sized lobster tails, with no sides or anything else. For $55, I can get 5 whole live lobsters and still get change back. The other problem is that the sides are pretty uninspired. Steamed broccoli is $6, $5 for a basic baked potato? Thats ridiculous... I feel sorry for the crippled person who made up the menu and prices. I'm assuming they are crippled, because anyone with the balls big enough to overprice food this badly has to have a hard time walking. Still, I'll try almost anything once, so I went with the 14oz strip, baked potato and green beans. The food itself was good. The green beans were cooked, but still had some crunch to them and had a nice flavor. The baked potato was a potato, and it was baked, so no complaints there. The steak was well seared, a perfect medium rare, and had just enough seasoning to accent the meat. Then, of course, the bill came, and I once again realized how overpriced this meal really was. This $30 meal cost me over $50, and it was by no means worth that. Final Cut really needs to realize where they are located if they want to draw in people for their food and not just to serve the gamblers that are already there. Sadly, Final Cut will probably never make changes to their pricing, as they are located in the dismal Charles Town casino. This is a place where people come and cash their paychecks, lose it all, and still come back to do it again next week. People who throw money away like that probably won't think twice about overpaying for a meal... especially when it means they don't have to leave the casino and can get right back to losing every penny they have quickly. For a place that seems to think it is an "elite" steakhouse, serving up overpriced meat and sides that could come from any average Applebees kitchen, Final Cut doesn't come closing to making the final cut for me.

F.U. yelp. This place sucks. For a very special weekend the handsome one and I decided to go not so far from dc to get some gambling under our belts. Poker room ftw. Our final night in WV we decided to grab a nice dinner at the casino. Final Cut had great reviews and seemed to be on par with DC steak house prices. Oh man... First of all we're not that young. We look young cause we're asian. Our waiter commented on my age a few times. He was gruff and super unprofessional. He really did treat us like a bunch of kids. I ordered wine and he was surprised I knew what a pinotage was. When the handsome one declined alcohol our waiter looked at us like he wanted to stab us in the face. WTH? My boyfriend ordered his appetizer first to snack on while we contemplated our entrees and the waiter seemed very put off that we weren't ready to order our whole meal at once. It was early in the night, the restaurant was empty- who's in a hurry? Not us. They were sold out of oysters... Shrimp cocktail came out for him and it was really over done. And it came with this weirdo guacamole that did not mesh with the rest of the plate. I had the asparagus bisque which was really too hot, and pretty bland. I don't cook with salt, and I hate salt- I added salt to this soup. Salmon came out for him, again overdone, and bland. I got the ribeye medium, which came out medium rare. I added the chimichurri on the side for $3 more and was severely disappointed. The waiter brought out chimichurri and A-1. Really? A-1?! We got the lobster mashed potatoes sans lobster due to my allergy (so we could share it) and it was TERRIBLE. A massive amount of disgusting. The consistency of the mashed potatoes was fine, but it was overpowered by tarragon? Some sort of seasoning. We had two bites and pushed it away. I took about 80% of the steak to go to cut up and feed to pups who was patiently waiting in the hotel. We skipped on dessert, and will never come back. What a waste of a money, what a waste of time.

Wonderful meal, but server was rude and inattentive. Such a shame as food is amazing. But main waiter could give a shit that we spent close to $200 for dinner. I did report to the manager and hope they "train" this waiter.

I've now been back to the Final Cut 4 times, and want to weigh in again, because I cannot say enough positive things about this restaurant. The food is delicious and the service has been consistently outstanding. The wine by the glass pours are very generous. The brioche bread is amazing. The roasted mushrooms and truffle mac & cheese sides are excellent (and I love those little serving pots -- charming!). The steaks are simply excellent. Have gone for two birthdays within our party, and if you reserve on Open Table and let them know, the restaurant provides a birthday card and complimentary dessert. It's a very welcome, classy touch. Yes, it's expensive, but not more so than any other fine steakhouse. And yes it's in a casino. But if casinos offend you, you probably shouldn't select to dine at a restaurant located within a casino. Excellent dining in a classy setting, with friendly and competent service.

My husband and I visited Charles Town for the night to meet up with his mom & sister. I also invited my mom too because she loves to gamble. For dinner, my husband made a reservation at Final Cut, which is the high-end restaurant at the casino. We had an amazing time! Both the food and service were excellent! For example, at the end of our meal, our server asked my husband if we would like any dessert. Being so full from the meal, my husband declined. To our delight, the server told us that he would like to give us two desserts on the house! Of course, we said yes! We got a chocolate napoleon and a cheesecake. Both were delicious, but I preferred the napoleon over the cheesecake. They also gave us pistachio cookies to go along with the coffee we ordered. I enjoyed them so much that I asked if I could take the leftovers home. Instead, the restaurant gave us a whole box of them to take home! As for the rest of our meal, they gave us Brioche Bread to start with. It was warm, buttery, and delicious. The only thing I didn't like about it was the salt on the top. For entrees, my mom and I decided to split the Chilean sea bass and NY Strip Steak (medium-rare). Both were seasoned well and cooked perfectly. My mom and I liked the steak more, which is good considering Final Cut is a steakhouse. And I knew that my mom especially enjoyed it, because she didn't even use the steak sauce that I ordered! You know the steak is good when my mom doesn't ask for A1 sauce, which is pretty much every time we eat out for steak. For the steaks, you have to order sides which are shareable. We ordered three sides: creamed spinach, horseradish mashed potatoes and truffle mac 'n cheese. The mac 'n cheese and spinach were my favorites. Everyone else really enjoyed their meal. My husband got the rack of lamb and it was huge. I don't think he finished it all. I was able to try a bite of it and it was very good. So long as I don't lose all my money at the blackjack tables, I will come back to eat at Final Cut.

Okay, I realize this is quite a ways from the metro DC area, but I thought it was one of the better steakhouses within an hour of me. Yes, you have to navigate through the casino to reach it, but isn't that because...wait for it...It's in a casino! Once in the restaurant, it's an oasis away from the craziness of the casino floor. I had very good service from all of the staff, from the greeters to the waiter and other wait staff. All very pleasant, and my waiter went out of his way to make sure I was happy. When I was torn between two sides, he arranged to give me some of both, and provided excellent recommendations. The brioche was the lightest I can remember and tasted great. Crab appetizer was a good mix of about three types of crab meat. I had the 12 oz fillet which was cooked perfectly to order with a wonderful char on the outside. The iPad for ordering drinks, wine, cigars, etc. was a nice touch, although it was wasted on me. I prefer to just ask the waiter - that's what he/she is there for. Will definitely return!

The service was very good. I ordered the bone-in ribeye and it was tasty but I've had better steaks for cheaper. $48 for a steak just seemed a little overpriced considering the location in Charles Town WV. The lobster mashed potatoes were decent also.

Tonight is my 3rd time there, and I will continue!! The food is amazing, the best steaks ever ( mine used to be the best til this place) and the presentation to the service is awesome. The first two times I did not make reservations, just lucked out that they had a table available; but this time I did as it was for a Birthday dinner and wanted to make sure we got a table at prime time. There was a hand written card addressed to my friend when we arrived at our table! Very nice touch! We had a blast on the iPad choosing our first cocktails and thoroughly enjoyed consuming them :) since I have chosen the filet in the past, we both ordered the bone in rib eye, medium, asparagus, shrooms, onions for the main meal and for the appetizer, we had the ahi tuna and oysters. Yum!!! Everything was cooked to perfection, and for our 'to go boxes' they added a fresh loaf of their amazing bread to each. Since it was my friends birthday, they gave her a dessert for free, forgot what it was called, but it was something with peanut butter and it was sooo good. Our dessert martinis were fabulous too. I'm definitely coming back soon!!
